By Car

Manchester has a busy and compact city centre. You are strongly advised to use the Metrolink Park and Ride carparks, and a tram to St Peters Square.

Anyone traveling up by car on Saturday is advised that Premier League football match (Man United vs Crystal Palace) is takinng place on Sat 30 Sep, 15:00 in Old Trafford, Stretford. This means that roads, trains and trams will be very busy 1.30 – 2.30 pm in and around Manchester and again when the game ends. Manchester, Salford and Trafford will all be very busy.

Parking for vehicles with passes

There is very limited space available in Sidney Street. This is assigned for production and essential vehicles only – most of which will be on site and then parking up with equipment nearby – it should not be used for the parking of people whose car is not essential and not known for security reasons.

Parking for vehicles without passes

All other vehicles should be instructed to park in the NCP Aquatics Centre Car park on Booth St East (located as per site plan) – or pay to be in parking bays on the surrounding streets.

By Air

Manchester Airport has Train and Metrolink connections to Manchester Piccadilly.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport, refurbished recently with the help of an EU grant, has shuttle buses to Liverpool South Parkway, and trains to Manchester Oxford Road via Deansgate.

Getting Around

Taxi drop off information

The best point for taxi drop off would be on Lower Ormond Street at the side of the park – best route to access would be off Higher Cambridge St in to Boundary St West.
If getting close not an issue for others then Booth St West and Booth St East are good drop off areas for taxis.

Metrolink

Manchester has a busy and compact city centre, served by a comprehensive part-EU funded and financed Metrolink service, by far the best way to travel into and around the city.  For more information and maps, please see the Metrolink site.
