Organisers of the grassroots #StopBrexit protest have called upon other remainers to join them in supporting the 12 Regional Rallies being planned by The 48% for October 14th.
Following the success of their march in Manchester, the Stop Brexit march organisers have announced their support for the next and final stage of the Autumn of Dissent protests against Brexit – the 12 Regional Rallies.
“We want to thank everyone who supported the march and rally”, says Peter French, the spokesman for the Stop Brexit March, “The march was a great success because you made it happen.”
“Now we ask you to support the local demonstrations being organised in your area. Spread the word, and lend a hand, give money where needed, but most important of all turn up and join in on the day.”
The organisers of the #Stop Brexit are pleased to announce the final line up of speakers for the #StopBrexit Rally in Manchester tomorrow.
Preceding the national march on the Conservative Party Conference, the Stop Brexit rally features a programme of prominent speakers presenting all colours of the political spectrum and none – key opponents to Brexit, that will shed light from different perspectives on the vast and horrific implications that Brexit has on all our lives . The Conservative Party Conference which begins in Manchester this Sunday is in store for a full-day of programme of opposition organised by remain activists that will see the city draped in a sea of blue.
The #StopBrexit activists have a number of surprises planned , the most highly-anticipated of which is the special float commissioned for the march.
Designed by the famous artist Jacques Tilly, who also built the Donald Trump float which Greenpeace used at the WTO meeting in Hamburg, the float is now on its way to Manchester, where it is being kept under tight wraps as a surprise for the day, which is also Theresa May’s birthday. When Britain joined the Single Market it was on terms set by Margaret Thatcher. It is therefore fitting that the man who developed the concept of the Single Market that Thatcher sold to the other European leaders will speak at the Stop Brexit Rally in Manchester this Sunday.
Dirk Hazell is the leader of the UK EPP and a true British European, who sacrificed his own future in the Tory Party for Britain’s future in Europe. His decision to speak at the Stop Brexit rally puts a renewed focus on several highly contentious issues within the Conservative Party, which is holding its annual conference in the same part of the city.
Vince Cable, the leader of the Liberal Democrat Party, has confirmed that he will be speaking at the Stop Brexit National March in Manchester on 1 October.
Having just challenged Jeremy Corbyn to “Join us in the Anti-Brexit People’s Liberation Front!”, the world will be watching to see what message Sir Vince has for Theresa May this Sunday.
He will be speaking to an audience of tens of thousands at the #StopBrexit mass-rally that will gather at All Saints Park, Oxford Road from 11 a.m. and later assemble into the massive march that remain campaigners have been organising since June. Several dozen grassroots remain movement leaders were blocked from posting or commenting on Facebook yesterday, disrupting the promotion and organisation of #StopBrexit National March in Manchester on 1 October.
Anyone sharing the official event page received a message from Facebook that they were barred until 3 October, preventing them from sharing any details about the protest until after it had taken place, which quickly fueled suspicions that someone was attempting to sabotage the march.
Ahead of this Sunday’s ‘Stop Brexit’ march in Manchester, Tony Blair told The Mancunion that the people of Manchester should “speak up now before it is too late”.
Speaking to The Mancunion, he said: “Manchester is a remain city. A warm and welcoming city, with a spirit like no other. Those who feel passionately that their future is in the hands of others who do not have their best interests at heart, who feel this decision will harm our country for generations to come should take this opportunity to demonstrate their strength of feeling against this Hard Brexit.”
Using a Manchester-specific football analogy to explain his position, Mr Blair said: “If we go ahead with this, we will have taken the unprecedented decision for a major country to relegate ourselves, like United or City deciding to play in the Championship. This is madness.”
Following further consultation with Greater Manchester police, the organisers of the Stop Brexit March are pleased to announce that the location of the assembly point for the march has now been confirmed as Whitworth Park.
Peter French, a spokesman for the Stop Brexit March, walked the route on Tuesday and is delighted with the new arrangements.
“Whilst this shortens the overall route by just under half a mile, it won’t have any effect on the impact of the march. On the contrary, we have had a lot of inquiries from families with young children wanting to take part, so this makes everything a little bit easier and safer for everyone.”
Join us on the first of October in Manchester as we march on the Conservative Party Conference to demand that Brexit is stopped!
Marching there on the first day of the Conference offers the opportunity for our voices to be actually heard by the party members as they arrive at the Convention Centre.
Conference is where the party decides its policies, and politicians make new alliances. Manchester is where the party will have to face up the reality of Brexit. Manchester is where the power of the Brexit Bulldogs must stop. Manchester is where Brexit must be stopped.
As Guy Verhofstadt said, “Brexit is all about a cat fight in the Tory party that got out of hand“, it is time that we, the people, tell the Tories to end this madness and put the interests of the country first.
Help us give that message to the Tories at their conference – join us to march!
